What does therapy cost?

$150 for a 45-minute individual session

$175 for a 45-minute couples session

Premarital work can be completed as an eight-week format or in one six-hour day. Please reach out for specifics.

Do you accept insurance?

I never want finances to keep you from obtaining services, but I do not accept insurance for two very important reasons. First, insurance companies require a mental health diagnosis for reimbursement. Insurance companies aren’t concerned about how your relationship impacts you or the phase of life problems you may be experiencing. This often leads to over-diagnosing and keeps individuals in therapy for longer than they need to be. Second, I am committed to providing services of the highest ethical standard. This means that by not accepting insurance I can keep your information confidential.

I do accept all major credit cards, HSA and FSA cards with a major credit card logo, as well as Venmo and CashApp. Your insurance may even reimburse you for services, and I am happy to provide you with a “Superbill” after each session for you to submit to your insurance company.

Why do you only provide telehealth therapy? Is it effective?

The research supports this idea, and tells us that telehealth therapy is just as effective as traditional in-person therapy. These sessions fit more conveniently into your busy life and provide a comfortable environment for many. Whether you’re on the go or prefer to sit on your couch in your PJs during session, telehealth has you covered. Teletherapy may not be for you if you are experiencing active suicidality or are unable to call in from a safe and private location.

Do you have special training?

I am trained in a number of different modalities and actively work to stay up-to-date on current research in the field. Trainings include:

  • The Gottman Method: Using an assessment of a couple’s relationship, the Gottman Method employs evidence-based interventions to disarm conflict, foster intimacy, and create more understanding and empathy within the relationship.

  • PREPARE/ENRICH: An evidenced-based assessment tool that allows couples–at any stage in their relationship–to gain a better understanding for their relationship strengths and growth areas while providing insight into how to effectively move through their relationship challenges.

  • Brainspotting: Brainspotting is a trauma based therapy which locates points in an individual's visual field that can access unprocessed trauma in the subcortical part of the brain.

  • Restoration Therapy: This therapeutic model seeks to highlight an individual’s identity and safety patterns while encouraging emotional regulation and mindfulness in order to foster behavioral change.

Is therapy confidential?

Yes! I hold myself to the highest ethical standard, and I am committed to protecting your confidentiality. Before your first session you will be provided with my “Informed Consent” which outlines the nature of therapy and the boundaries in which your information is kept confidential. Under state law, there are three limitations to confidentiality:

  • If I believe you are a danger to yourself or someone else, I have a duty to protect you and/or the identified individual.

  • You disclose abuse to a currently minored child, an elder over the age of 65, or a disable individual who cannot care for themselves.

  • If I am subpoenaed for court I may be required to disclose information relevant to the situation which may contain confidential information. I will absolutely make every effort to protect your rights and you will be notified of the subpoena prior to disclosure.

How long will I be in therapy?

This question is not a simple one to answer as each individual, couple, and family has their own unique set of goals for therapy. Together we can decide what may be appropriate for you. My goal is to provide you with the tools to flourish outside of therapy, and I don’t want to keep you in therapy longer than you need to be. My hope is to empower you so you can continue to thrive long after our time together has come to an end.

What can I expect from therapy?

Therapy can be weird. It can also be really rewarding. With me, you can expect some humor, a lot of empathy, and a dash of calling it like I see it. This is your experience and your time in therapy will be tailored to your needs and goals. I am here to walk with you–wherever that may take us.

What is the cancelation policy?

You will be given a full agreement of the practice policies and procedures before the first session. I require a 24-hour notice prior to the session for cancellations or scheduling changes. If you cancel or reschedule within 24-hours or if you do not show for the appointment, you will be charged the full session fee. I understand that life happens and can often be unexpected. I will do my best to extend grace in situations such as illness, death of a loved one, and other unforeseen and unavoidable incidents. I hope that the same courtesy may be extended to me at times. No charge will ever be made without notifying the client first.
